Tuesday’s Tidings
Welcome to my daily political musings. Grab a cup of coffee, sit back and enjoy!
You know what the scariest part of another Trump presidency is? JD Vance. Let’s get down to it here. Donny ain’t a spring chicken. He doesn’t lead a healthy lifestyle. He eats too much junk. He worries. Those are not habits that the fortune cookie mage rewards with a note predicting long life and happiness. If Trump were to get the fortune cookie message we all fear and go to the place that’s the best, we’d all be left with JD.
There’s a debate between the two Vice Presidential contenders coming up in a few days. It will be between one man who will say anything for power or money, and another who can not be anything other than practical. Coach Walz has a political ad running where he actually services an International Scout while he delivers his political message. For those of you not familiar with the last century, an International Scout was made, obviously, by an automotive giant which specialized in trucks and tractors. The Scout was their answer to the Willis Jeep. It was a one-of-a-kind vehicle.
That Coach knows enough about one to know how to adjust the cruise control, is impressive. JD can know how to make a frigging rumor about immigrants eating cats in his home state of Ohio into a National Disgrace for the level of stupidity surrounding the whole debacle. Spreading a rumor requires no skill set at all.
For Coach to explain and know how to explain so that people watching can understand something as obscure as the cruise control of a International Scout says just tons about the man’s skill as a teacher.
But, JD does have one well-developed skill. Apple polisher. He is too aloof to be a brown noser, but he qualifies as an apple polisher because his entire existence seems to be dedicated to spinning the craziness Trump lavishes upon the base.
Can you imagine JD on his own without a leash or a master? JD considers himself to be a post-liberal conservative and is identifiable as a right-wing populist. In other words, JD thinks he knows better than other politicians, and he can prove it because he gets a segment of the population to go along with his cockamamie notions. He is against abortion because companies want cheap labor and, therefore, do not want women to get pregnant. That’s just one example of how far out of touch JD actually is.
Two men. Two positions. One is out of touch with anything practically real, and the other knows no other way to relate. Not a lot to weigh between the two of them. JD has no substance of his own as yet, and when he does it will not be pretty. Coach is all about substance. He doesn’t need more. He has so much, it’s best if he gives it away.
The debate might just be one-sided again. Kamala’s was.
