Welcome to my daily political musings. Grab a cup of coffee, sit back and enjoy!
Maybe I worry too much, but I can see how Ms. K and Coach are going to win in November. I’m relieved about that. That’s a long-term win. There is the business of the short-term win to consider, too.
Here’s the heart of my concern. We know that if he should win in November, Trump has vowed to begin proceedings which will lead to violence, which will be countered with more violence, and so on. That’s what we already know about what he plans to do if he wins in November.
In some ways, it could be fair to say that he has a certain blood lust for those who are not WASPs or whatever metric he uses to measure a person’s permitted ethnicity. And that guy he hangs with? That Miller kid? The one who unfortunately has a penile appearance in countenance and in demeanor?
Stephen Miller would be in a waking wet dream should his protector turn him loose to move all Latin-appearing people into detainment camps. During World War II, the United States built such camps to intern Japanese citizens. That paranoia was almost justifiable when compared to what Trump and Miller, and their cohorts want to bring about.
There is a rumor promulgated by one of Miller’s high school classmates who said that Miller’s hate for Latin-appearing people stems from a girl turning him down for a date back in high school. That’s weird, but then Trump inherited his racism. Neither reason can be justified.
This rumor, by the way, is no worse than the one about Haitians in Ohio stealing geese and eating cat tacos. You see, rumors like this one are used to belittle a person. Miller’s professed hatred of non-white people is a matter of public record, and it’s absurd. It cannot be justified without lying to oneself. The facts are probably not true as reported, but the reality reported verifies an observation of Miller’s irrational and apparent hatred of brown-skinned people.
We know how draconian their stated plans are should they win. Do you think they might have plans for when they lose? I don’t know for sure, but I’m pretty sure they do. If they do, the time between Election Day and Inauguration Day will be a test of Joe Biden’s resolve.
Violence is already amping up. There have been two assassination attempts against Trump in the last month or so. I cannot imagine there will only be two. I cannot imagine there will not now be attempts against Ms. K or Coach Walz.
I heard a poll result the other day that was disturbing, to say the least. Something around 35% of Republicans say they think they’ll have to resort to violence to take back the government. Something like 15% of Democrats think the same way.
The only thing I don’t understand is who these people think they’re going to take the government back from. I don’t even know what drives their malcontent. I don’t know that they know, either. What I do know for sure is that as long as everyone is talking about rumors as opposed to discussing the actual facts, events, and solutions, things are going to get worse before they get better.
The only way I see that does not happen is if Joe stops this Trump led rebellion before it begins.
You know what?
I kind of think that Joe has been waiting all his life for this moment. I reckon he’s as ready as he’s going to be.
If you missed a musing or a blog this week, here’s the week in review! Enjoy. 😊
